Liberty's Owl, Raptor and Reptile Centre run several photography days through out the year, which are organised by Captivelight Photography. These days are proving to be very popular, appealing to all levels of photographer from beginners right up to professional photographers. We offer two kinds of public photo experience days:
1: Liberty's Centre Photo Days.
These are held within Liberty's Centre using our birds of prey, reptiles and other creatures, running from 10.00am until around 3.00pm. During this time you will be given an oppurtunity to photograph owls, falcons, eagles as well as other birds of prey and some of our reptile house residents from very close, and without wires or bars in the way. A sandwich tray lunch is included, and you are welcome to stay within the Centre for the rest of the day after the organised part of the day has finished. Price: From £45 per Person.
2: Raptors in the Forest Days
These days take place out in the New Forest, where we pose a number of birds of prey in natural surroundings. Usually the day starts at 9.45am at Liberty's Centre with a quick briefing, after which we drive out into the Forest with the birds until about 2pm when we return to the Centre, where you are welcome to stay for the rest of the day should you wish to. This is the day to book if you are looking for high quality images of our birds of prey in a natural landscape. Price: From £45 per Person
3: Private Photo Day Bookings
You can also book either of these Photo Experience Days as a Private Day for up to 5 persons from £250 per day, which is a good way for a group of friends to share the costs and enjoy an amazing day out photographing these beautiful birds.
Our Photographic Experience Days are organised by Professional Photographers from CaptiveLight Photography, so help and advice is always at hand during your day. For more information and to book please visit their web site at www.captivelight.co.uk or phone 07899 700800
Because you can get so close to the animals that you are photographing no special equipment is needed but we would suggest that a camera with at least a 3 times zoom is the minimum requirement, although the way that the day is structured you will be able to get photographs with virtually any camera. For those with SLR cameras we suggest a zoom lens of around 70 - 300mm, and maybe a macro lens for the smaller animals.
We welcome photographers of all abilities and ages, although children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult. Friends and relatives who are not part of the Photo day are welcome to come into the Centre and enjoy the public demonstrations at the normal admission price.
